A quick who's who of the Cult...

Name? Joe Boden
Favourite Film? I'm currently doing a list on Empire, so I'll come back to you in a month...
Favourite Director? Eric Rohmer.
How'd you get into films? It felt like a natural progression, really. I started with James Bond, and then moved to LOTR, and then to the Usual Suspects, and then to foreign films, and so on...
What kind of films do you watch? I'll watch any old rubbish once. My main likes or World Cinema and Film-Noir, and dislikes are blockbusters and romcoms, but there are exceptions.

Name? Paul Coughlan
Favourite Film? I'm also doing a list, so I'll come back to you later.
Favourite Director: Paul Thomas Anderson.
How'd you get into films? I saw "Taxi Driver".
What kind of films do you watch? Anything that doesn't end with the word "movie".

Name? Adam Goodall
Favourite Film? Like Joe, I have a list running elsewhere, so it can wait.
Favourite Director? Subject to change at a film’s notice, but probably Joon-ho Bong, Takeshi Kitano or the Coen brothers right now.
How'd you get into films? I’ve been into films since I was a wee ‘un, cutting out the cinema screenings parts of the newspapers and filing them away. But I really got into films a few years ago, writing a director essay on Sam Mendes for Media Studies at high school. I watched American Beauty, and the rest, as they say, is history.
What kind of films do you watch? Anything and everything. My internal censor will always be shut off for a first watch. I’m more willing to return to noir films, neo-noirs, dramas, action films and Asian cinema generally, however.

Name? Last time I checked, it was Eivind Langdal. People call me Eivind Langdal. You can call me Steve.
Favourite Film? Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Once Upon a Time in America usually make up my top 3 (interchangeably).
Favourite Director? Depends on the mood, really. I'm happy today, so I going to say Martin Scorsese.
How'd you get into film? Went on a date with a girl, she put on The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, and I completely forgot about her. No, kidding, I don't remember.
What type of films do you watch? Good ones. But don't quote me on that.

Name? Tim Popple
Favourite Film? 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968, Stanley Kubrick).
Favourite Director: Stanley Kubrick.
How'd you get into film? I got into films through a childhood immersed in them - my parents introduced me to classics (Dr Strangelove), one brother introduced me to Alien, aged 8... and the other introduced me to Back to the Future.
What type of films do you watch? I watch any films, so long as they're good. Unless they're bad, in which case I watch them too.

Name? Will Stanton
Favourite Film? Histoire(s) Du Cinema or L’Atalante
Favourite Director: Jean-Luc Godard
How'd you get into film? Hitchcock, basically. A viewing of Rear Window that was like having my eyes forcefully opened.
What type of films do you watch? Should be fairly obvious.

Name? Rob Stevens.
Favourite Film? A Bout de Souffle (1960, Jean Luc Godard).
Favourite Director? Charlie Chaplin.
How'd you get into film? I watched Se7en late night on the telly as a teenager. Mind blown, I swore to explore the fascinating world of film.
What type of films do you watch? I like all kinds of films, from silent cinema to shlocky so-bad-they're-great horrors, but I would say my main loves are Silent Comedy, the French New Wave, independent cinema and Hong Kong actioners.

Name?  Darren Williams
Favourite Film? In the middle of a list so I'll get back to you on that one.
Favourite Director? Depends on my mood, but Scorsese was the director who first really captured my imagination.
How'd you get into film? Because of my parent's taste in cinema I saw some unusual films at a very early age. But when I was about 12/13 I got some film books out of the library and started tracking down films that looked interesting from them.
What kind of films do you watch  Anything and everything.
